National Geographic editors admit that the magazine has been racist for many years

The legendary National Geographic magazine recently made a truly sensational statement: for decades, the publication has been racist. The editor-in-chief and her colleagues came to this conclusion after a professor at an American university analyzed the archives of National Geographic and provided an objective report on the editorial policy of the journal.

According to this report, throughout almost the entire history of its existence, the publication contributed to the spread of racial stereotypes, and in its materials paid much less attention to everything related to the culture and life of "non-white" races.

It was decided to carry out such labor-consuming and important work to the release of a special issue of the magazine, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the murder of black human rights activist Martin Luther King. In the editorial of this issue, editor-in-chief Susan Goldberg says that he deeply regrets the circumstances of the past Nat Geo, which they cannot be proud of. The cover of this unique issue was a photograph of twin girls born with different skin colors.
