The most ingenious skyscraper in the world, which provides itself with electricity

The construction of recreations that would consume a minimum of energy during operation and contribute to the conservation of natural resources is very popular in the modern world. This interesting direction, originating in the vastness of Europe, rapidly spread throughout the world, where it was embodied in many very interesting buildings. One of the most unique environmental projects to date can be called a skyscraper located in the Chinese city of Guangzhou. The construction was completed in 2011.

The city of Guangzhou, located on the southeast coast of China, is known for its tropical cyclones, which regularly come from the expanses of the ocean. The construction of high-rise buildings in this metropolis, as in all others, is a necessary measure to save precious city space in the context of rapid population growth. In addition to the usual engineering difficulties associated with the construction of such heavy and high structures, the designers had to take into account strong winds, which are not uncommon here. But while working on the project, the engineers came up with a brilliant solution: to turn the problem into an advantage, using the destructive power of the winds for the good.

The name of the Pearl River Tower skyscraper is translated as the “pearl river", and it really can be called the pearl of modern green building. Due to the turbines located on the technical floors, the Pearl River Tower can receive electricity from the wind. The building is specially designed in such a way as to direct wind flows into the holes where several turbines are located.

In addition to wind energy, the building is equipped with many solar panels, has increased thermal insulation, as well as a special design of elevators, which saves energy. Take a look at how this works.
