Alas, people have invented a huge number of ways to destroy the environment and everything living in it. However, do not forget about those who devote their lives to the protection of nature.

The other day, the ranger Mathieu Chamavou shared a picture that flew around the world in a few hours and collected a huge amount of views.

The photograph shows him with two impressive sizes of gorillas living in Virunga National Park. This territory is under the protection of UNESCO and has at its disposal 600 rangers protecting the peace and well-being of local residents. Once fierce hostilities unfolded here, which led to a significant devastation of Virunga. People chased and killed gorillas for food, trade in exotic meat and used it for medicinal purposes. But now these brave people, who are on guard of the safety of amazing animals, are fighting for their lives. The shots made perfectly demonstrate the incredible connection that has been established between the rangers and their wards.

It is worth noting that everyone who enters the ranger service undergoes very serious and thorough training. The work is very exhausting and dangerous, but its goal is truly great and noble. Virunga National Park is one of the most biodiverse protected areas on the planet. More than two hundred species of mammals, more than seven hundred species of birds, hundreds of species of reptiles and more than twenty species of primates live here.
