China has the most lonely and unnecessary subway station

In the southwestern part of China in Chongqing is the most unnecessary metro station Caojiawan, overgrown with tall grass and bushes. There are no roads leading to it, public transport does not run through it, but nevertheless it operates. It appeared in 2015 and is one of the stations that connect the suburbs with the center of Chongqing.

Caojiawan Station has as many as three exits, but only one is used.

Since the other two lead to a wasteland, from which it is very difficult to get to the house.

Going down to the subway, you can see that the station inside is very clean and modern.

As with any existing station, there are employees here. One of them admitted that there are very few passengers here.
However, this is already evident, it is enough to go down the subway to Caojiawan at rush hour. You will see approximately the same as in this photo. Given what is happening during the peak congestion in the Beijing metro, this station is a real paradise for passengers.

This situation is explained by the fact that in China one department is responsible for the development of the metro, and another for the construction of roads. Although the Department of Urban Planning intends in the near future to “catch up” with the pace of development of the subway and to build an equipped residential area near Caojiawan Station.
